Mixed Martial Arts MMA fans in Ajegunle erupted in excitement as One Fight Ultimate OFU roadshow birthed on some streets of the community.

OFU MMA berths in Ajegunle for OFU3 Street fight. May 1, 2022

The promotional tour was to sensitize the area ahead of OFU3 Streetfight coming up on 1st May 2022 at Navy Barracks in Ajegunle.

On sighting the tour bus adorned with campaign materials of the tournament, themed AJ City Rumble, some traders, hawkers, passersby and kids beamed with joy, with some of them mimicking various striking MMA moves to show off their unproven ability.

One of the young onlookers Bayo who approached the tour bus for a closer inspection of the giant sized pictures of the street fighters draped round the vehicle spoke to OFU media crew with glee on his expectations:

“I expect tough fights from the event on Mayday at Navy Barracks.

“As a party youth leader am going to make sure people of Ajegunle both young and old are mobilized to attend the event.

“This is the first time MMA will be coming to AJ and I must commend OFU for putting together the tournament, believing that whatever plans the organization has for the game in Nigeria will surely come to fruition.”

Interesting thing about the tour was that despite the congested and densely populated nature of the city, the bus was able to traverse major streets of Ajegunle while spreading the MMA gospel.

The streets included Achakpo, Mba, Wilmer, Okoya, Ezeagu, Ezeagu, Boundary and Mobil.

The president of the Kickboxing Federation of Nigeria Grandmaster Wilson Okon, born and bred on Achakpo street, rounded off activities of the show with a resounding applause for the organizers for the noble idea:

“I am so grateful to OFU for bringing the first reality combat sports event to Ajegunle.

“I was born here and you could see how people who knew me as ‘Big Joe’ in the neighborhood were chanting my name during the show.

“It’s always good to identify with the grassroots, the small people so to speak, whenever you want do anything.

“Because these people are the ones that will understand and grow with your dream unlike the grown people who can leave you at any slightest opportunity.”

The AJ City Rumble which kicks off at 3PM inside the Navy Barracks will see 4 gladiators fighting thru the semi finals to a final matchup that will crown the OFU Street fighter 2022 in Ajegunle.

Whichever way, the fighters have promised to leave everything inside the cage come May 1st.
